Emergency Plan

Heveningham Parish Council is developing an Emergency Pan. The purpose of this is to document the actions to be taken and the resources to be mobilised, by a group of people of Heveningham, when assistance is requested from the emergency services / local authority, or in response to an emergency affecting the parishes of Heveningham or adjacent communities. The kind of emergency could be a flood, a major power cut, abnormal quantities of snow or other severe weather or other similar events.

The Parish Council is looking for people to assist in this and to help to co-ordinate any response to an emergency.

To do this, information has to be gathered by Councillors so as to set up

· A chain of phone numbers (which would be kept private) so as to alert individuals.

· A list of items and people who could provide assistance in an emergency

· A list of vulnerable people who could be attended to as a priority

· A lists of contacts of the various agencies and authorities to assist as required
